The Beginning

In Charles Rohling’s family, growing up here in Kennesaw, if you cooked you didn’t have to clean.

One of five siblings, that motivated him to start cheffing it up as a preteen. Rohling gleaned the basics via food mags but by his senior year at Marietta High, his culinary creativity took hold as he started developing his own recipes. After college – and time a spent as a Georgia Tech track athlete – he picked up restaurant marketing and management experience in the big leagues, holding several corporate positions before returning to hands-on food creation through well-known Atlanta brunch delivery biz BrunchB!tch.

Now, ready to lay roots, the Kennesaw native has returned to his community offering up a culmination of experience and passion with his first brick-and-mortar – morning shift. – an approachable neighborhood eatery located literally a-mile-and-half from where he grew up.

It’s because of Rohling’s time in the industry – from server to cook and beyond – that Morning Shift houses a customer-focused team, offering tasty eats with a side of staff positivity. The Morning Shift intention is to offer patrons top-quality, delicious breakfast and lunch, suitable for any palate, with little-to-no wait time.

Reaching beyond food trends, a Morning Shift experience means eighty-sixing the picky palate bosses of the world and finding something for everyone in one fresh, fun space – on one well-rounded menu. We offer an authentic, hearty breakfast or lunch for any type of eater…FOR REAL.

Vegan? We got you! From Zero Eggs to Beyond Meat – here – you’ve got options…and not just a few. Most any meal can be made vegan. But don’t worry carnivores, we got you, too. Order up a traditional breakie or nosh on one of the crem de la creams of the breakfast world – steak and eggs! If you’re feeling sassy and want to try something you might not see on just any breakfast menu, shake things up with Breakfast Your Way and house made carnitas as your protein. Alas, if your one of those brunchers who prefers to start the day with lunch or just desire lunch – fair and square – our full lunch menu is chock-full of fresh salads and sammies.

Morning Shift is proud to say we butcher our meat in house and make all our own jams, sauces, and dressings. We also offer fresh squeezed citrus – a staple for any first meal of the day or an amazing mimosa. Psst…we also have a full bar for those in the mood to celebrate.

To the Morning Shift founder, regardless of your experience, it’s all about being a team player and offering superior customer service. We hire locally and are confident to say our team is as delightful as our food.
